A Ceramic Kind Of Love

It was love at first sight.

What can I say?  When you know, you just know. Ours is a love story not quite like the others, a modern tale. I guess you never truly know what it is you’re searching for until you find it. But as soon as I did, I knew we were meant to be together. I realised I had been looking in all the wrong places for so long and suddenly everything just made sense.

Beautiful, delicate, natural, kind to the planet, lover of animals, socially aware, morally conscious.

I mean what more could a girl ask for?!

We were made for each other, and if it wasn’t for technology, we may never have found one another!

House of Kind made it possible for me to find my true love online and I am eternally grateful. I didn’t know I could feel this way about a bowl until now! Oh, yes I have been talking about a bowl this entire time. Was that not clear?

Okay so that may have been a little bit dramatic but a good bowl is hard to find! All jokes aside, I really couldn’t be happier about this handcrafted piece from award winning artist Ruth Power.

Ruth designs and creates all of her ceramics in Dublin, Ireland, all made from natural materials. Each and every piece she crafts is truly unique and one of a kind, how wonderful is it to know that you are purchasing something so rare and not mass produced? Not only that, you are also supporting a real person in their small business who is compassionate and contributing to change.

The environmental impact of factory produced items leaves a huge mark on the earth and most consumers aren’t aware of what they are contributing to when buying something from a big company. When you buy from a small business you are really reducing the amount of waste and energy that comes from manufacturing something and your footprints tread a little lighter on the planet. Win-win!

Plus, everything just tastes better when it’s in a handcrafted, pastel pink bowl with a touch of twenty-two karat gold!

It can be difficult to find ethical, sustainable, cruelty free, vegan homeware that is made from high quality materials and is also stylish but House of Kind makes it so accessible! They work with many different small businesses and people around the world, showcasing a collection of beautiful, unique, timeless, high quality home accessories, furnishings, jewellery and much more.

It is so refreshing to be able to look through a website’s products and not have to worry about what it’s made from or if it is one of millions made in an unsafe factory by underpaid workers. You can really feel how much House of Kind care about all of their products and the people who make them, they go above and beyond to make sure everything they support is kind to the planet, its people and animals.

It is so important to know what you’re buying and Cat and Raina, the women behind House of Kind, take the hard work out of finding something you can be proud to support by offering complete brand transparency on all of their pieces.

Many of their product sales also donate to wonderful charities that help fight breast cancer, stop domestic violence and sanctuaries that rescue animals from the dairy and meat industries, so you know you are giving back and doing good, not just taking.
